Berkshire Group Names Noted Economist Gleb Nechayev Senior Vice President, Economic & Market Research

 Strategic Hire Represents Investment Manager’s Focus on Expanded Research

BOSTON, MA – December 4, 2014 – Berkshire Group, a real estate investment management company known for its vertically-integrated operating platform and experience in the multifamily sector, today announced the hiring of Gleb Nechayev as Senior Vice President, Economic & Market Research.

In this role, Mr. Nechayev will lead the development of original real estate research at Berkshire, as a part of its Investments Group.  He will be based in the Company’s Boston headquarters and will report to Chief Investment Officer, David Olney. 

“Gleb is a recognized multifamily expert, and his appointment signifies our focus on expanding the breadth and depth of our research,” said Mr. Olney. “While research has always been part of our business, it has been largely focused around transactions and acquisitions. We look to Gleb to develop a more comprehensive institutional Berkshire view.  To do this, the research team under Gleb will marry the extensive proprietary data from our multifamily operating platform with economic and market data to build actionable insights that help uncover investment opportunity for clients.”

Gleb Nechayev
Mr. Nechayev is a recognized real estate economist specializing in multifamily markets, with nearly two decades of industry experience.  Prior to joining Berkshire, he was Senior Managing Economist for CBRE Econometric Advisors (formerly Torto Wheaton Research), where he provided expert economic outlook in the multifamily, retail and hotel property sectors.   Previously, he held a senior research position with Lend Lease Real Estate Investments.  He has a Masters in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and is a graduate of the National Economic University of Kiev, Ukraine.  Mr. Nechayev is a member of both the Urban Land Institute and the National Multifamily Housing Council.
